Not only do we support local independent businesses, we also make a conscious choice to take our custom to local charities whenever possible.

Lily & Lime, based on the top floor of Portsmouth’s Central Library in Guildhall Square, is a brilliant example of how good food and good causes can come together. The cafe serves freshly prepared dishes including bacon rolls, cold sandwiches, paninis, toasties and jacket potatoes with a range of fillings, along with a tempting selection of homemade cakes and treats.

During my visit, I had the pleasure of speaking with one of the young team members whose story is genuinely inspiring. Despite facing challenges, he’s found real confidence and purpose in his role at the cafe; his warmth and customer service were exceptional.

I ordered the Brie and Red Onion Marmalade toastie; generously filled and packed with flavour, and was very nearly swayed by the array of cakes on display at the counter.

Lily & Lime is more than just a cafe. It’s a space where people with learning disabilities are supported to grow, develop skills and thrive through meaningful work. If you’re in the city centre, stop by for lunch or a coffee, helping to support a charity that’s making a real difference.

Lily & Lime is open Monday to Friday, 10am to 3pm.
