Throughout September, we were welcoming to our shores of Portsea Island around a thousand cruise passengers every week. My role as a Cruise Ambassador is to encourage everyone to explore Portsmouth’s brilliant independent food and drink spots.
Even when the rain set in, there was no better excuse to retreat indoors to The Fossil Thief with something warm and comforting. Bread Addiction provided the freshly baked goods, whilst another local supplier Broadway Coffee provided the superbly roasted coffee, I chose the nitro coffee specials; creamy, indulgent and perfect for a morning boost.
They have recently started selling freshly baked sourdough loaves, baguettes and bloomers from Bread Addiction; all this will be available at The Fossil Thief every Saturday and Sunday. Each loaf is baked that morning, making it easy to grab your coffee and your crusty sourdough in one stop.
Autumn is in full swing and the seasonal vibes are reflected throughout The Fossil Thief. Crisp air, golden leaves and warm autumnal flavours create the perfect setting for coffee, cocktails, pastries and tray bakes. Their new sandwich menu has been a huge hit, with fresh, crusty sandwiches flying out the door and regularly updated to bring you the tastiest, most satisfying options direct from The Southsea Deli.
So whether it’s for morning coffee, lunch or evening drinks, visitors can enjoy fresh locally roasted coffee, cookies, tray bakes and sandwiches made with care by the local independent suppliers; the best of the best under one roof.
Sunday to Thursday 08:30–20:00, Friday and Saturday 08:30–22:00.
