Do you enjoy trying different dishes and wines? Have you ever wondered how to choose the right wine for your food? Or do you simply fancy a great value foodie night out in a classy venue?
We’ve teamed up with the fantastic Sant Yago for a very special exclusive event this summer… you’ll get to taste six small plates from their tapas menu they’ve prepared just for us, along with four different wines and two cocktails which have been specially selected to match each dish!
This will be an awesome evening full of different flavours, with the opportunity to learn more about how to pair wine with food. Equally perfect for a date night or a group of family and friends.
What’s more, we’ve partnered with one of our fellow local bloggers Joanne (AKA @onecoeliac_joanneszrok) for this event and everything is gluten free – so coeliacs and anyone with a gluten intolerance can safely enjoy it too! Perhaps you often feel bloated, constipated or suffer with indigestion after eating; could the gluten in what you’re eating have something to do with it?
It all takes place in the super-trendy Basement Bar at Sant Yago where we have exclusive use. And we’ve priced the evening at an extremely competitive cost price of just £40!

Event Information – This event is run on a not-for-profit basis, ensuring that you receive real value for money! A small 5% booking fee will be added at checkout, which helps us cover admin and payment processing so we can keep our activities affordable. Suitable for gluten free and dairy free dietary requirements (prior notice required for dairy free allergies), but please note that due to the set menu and nature of this pairing event, we are unfortunately unable to accommodate other dietary requirements or offer replacement dishes. Strictly 18+ only. We operate a Challenge 25 policy at our events, meaning we may ask for ID to anyone aged over 18 but looks under 25. We’ve never had a problem yet – but just so you know, we will not tolerate any abusive behaviour towards us, staff of Sant Yago or other guests. Anyone behaving inappropriately may be reminded to drink responsibly or asked to leave. These events are operated by Portsmouth Foodguide and we normally take photos and film the events. Includes 6 generous tastings of new and exciting selections of craft beer with an explanation for each, as well as tasting cards, scoresheets and a prize draw to end the evening.
This is a true bringing together of local food and drink fanatics who perhaps want to feel more integrated with the Portsmouth community. Perhaps you’re keen to find out more about beer or you’re just curious to know what the Sir Loin of Beef is like if you’ve never been before, maybe you’ve been before to one of our epic beer tasting nights so you’re back for more fun, or you just simply want a good reason to enjoy an evening out with friends and loved ones. We’ll have six incredible new releases of craft beer to taste, these tastings will definitely be a treat. What beer will reign supreme, only you decide!

All venues have a fully-licenced bar serving a selection of craft beers to complement your six tastings. We try to select places who serve great food, however, sometimes we have to choose venues who are unable to serve food, therefore we suggest the best local places to enjoy dinner before the event. Strictly 18+ year olds permitted entry.
