The Apsley is back.

This much-loved Portsmouth pub reopened its doors last Friday under new ownership, ready to begin a fresh chapter. Locals have been eagerly waiting for its return, and now’s the perfect time to celebrate as another great community pub is reborn and saved from closure.

There’s plenty to look forward to in the coming weeks. From Wednesday 15 October, The Hungry Hog will be serving their famous burgers and loaded fries every Wednesday evening. Over the Great South Run weekend, Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 October, expect outdoor cooking and a special event menu to match the occasion. Then, from Sunday 26 October, their long-awaited Sunday roasts make their debut and they’re set to be a highlight.

But The Apsley isn’t just about good food and drink. Like so many of Portsmouth’s pubs, it’s a place that brings people together. Pubs remain the beating heart of our communities; a place to share stories, reconnect with friends and help combat loneliness.
